Harrah's Metropolis Casino

Official home of the legendary cartoon character Superman, Metropolis is located on the Ohio River, at the southern most edge of Illinois. This small town, with its brick sidewalks and turn-of-the-century streetlights has a fifteen-foot bronze statue of Superman in front of the County Courthouse. Superman fans can view a collection of memorabilia, movie props, and costumes in the Super Museum.

Early in 2000, Harrah's Entertainment completed its purchase of the Player's Island Casino properties, one of which was a riverboat located in Metropolis. On September 12, 2001, with a 67 million-dollar expansion behind them, as well as a new North Star Riverboat, Player's Island Casino was officially renamed Harrah's Metropolis.

The casino provides over 1200 slot machines, ranging in denomination from a nickel to twenty-five dollars. Twenty-five tables offer roulette, blackjack, craps, Caribbean stud poker, let it ride, and much more. Gaming is dockside, with open boarding and no admission charge.

Within the pavilion are three dining venues. Range Steakhouse is a fine dining steak/seafood restaurant, Fresh Market Express offers a deli menu, and Fresh Market Buffet provides a variety of entrees. Live entertainment is available on weekends on the main deck of the casino.
