Gulfstream Park opened its doors to its new casino with Las Vegas-style slot machines in November 2006. The Hallandale Beach, Florida racetrack became the first of Broward County, Florida's four pari-mutuels to have slot machines.

Gulfstream has over 510 slot machines in the casino room on the second floor of its clubhouse. The property also daily and simulcasts, even in their restaurants, with wagering. A poker room is also available for table enthusiasts.

Gulfstream Park is home of the Florida Derby stakes, which debuted there in 1952. The Florida Derby is a premier preparatory race for the Kentucky Derby.
