Casino Sault Ste Marie
Opened on May 24, 1999, Casino Sault Ste. Marie was the first of five charity casinos planned for the province of Ontario. It comes under the jurisdiction of the Ontario Lottery Corporation.
The casino's 452 slots range from nickel to $5 machines. Consistent with the other provincial casinos, money must be converted to tokens for play. There is a non-smoking slot area in the west side of the building. Blackjack, Let it Ride, Carribean Stud, Roulette, Spainsh 21, Three card Poker, and 7 Card stud are played at sixteen gaming tables. Two tables of Texas Hold 'Em, are offered in a fairly new poker room. Players can request that a table become non-smoking.
There is a full-service restaurant, Firebird's, as well as an on-site bar. The atmosphere of this centrally located casino is both inviting and pleasant.
