Mohawk Racetrack
Mohawk Racetrack, located a 25-minute drive west of Toronto, resides on a 450-acre tract of land surrounded by woodlands of spruce, cedar, pine, and birch, in the village of Campbellville. Just a quarter mile north of Highway 401 on the Guelph Line is where many of North America's champion harness horses compete.
After 35 years as Canada's premier 5/8ths mile harness oval, Mohawk was transformed into a one-of-a-kind 7/8th's mile oval track after a massive $2 million summer overhaul, opening on September 14, 1998 to rave reviews from fans and horsemen alike.
Mohawk affords customers the opportunity to enjoy harness racing in style. The Terrace Dining Room overlooks the track and features an array of eating choices from either our gourmet menu or our sumptuous all-you-can-eat buffet. Individual television monitors are on each table. For less formal dining, concession stands in the grandstand offer a variety of food and snack items. Plentiful unreserved seating is available in all areas of the track, as well as in the Trackside Lounge beverage room. The racetrack features a glassed-in, climate controlled enclosure for viewing pleasure in all types of weather.
Television monitors are conveniently located throughout, allowing you to watch the post parade, the race, payoffs, and the race replays. Monitors also show betting odds and probable payoffs on combination bets.
In August 1999, the track unveiled a new slot area complete with 750 machines, a racebook featuring racing from around North America, and eating areas. Tens of thousands of customers visit Mohawk each week.
